Here is a link where you can order tickets for Doc's speech at the Henry Farnam dinner in Rock Island on Feb. 22: http://www.riveraction.org/nuke73/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=43
There apparently is some confusion about this event - I've heard that some people want to come but haven't been invited - this is NOT a private affair. It is open to the public and there are no invitations. I think the organization may send info to locals, which flyers they call invitations, but receiving one is not a requirement to attend. If they've sent anything, I don't have it, and that's not keeping me away. All that is needed is your $$$$...
Likewise, I have mentioned an Open House here at the Middle Upper Mississippi River Museum on Friday afternoon, and no engraved invitations are being sent. If you are awaiting one, too bad... This is it: The MUMRM will be open from 12 to 4 PM on Friday Feb. 22 for you to peruse my various steamboat artifacts, photos, and collections. If you are coming to town for Doc's talk, you are welcome here! All that is necessary is to notify me so I can give directions here and so I'll know how many to expect.
