Well the 07' season for the DELTA QUEEN STEAMBOAT COMPANY is now offically over with the arrival in New Orleans of the Str. American Queen . She arrived in the Crescent City on the 2nd. of January , made her landing at the Erato St. Wharf and thus concluded the 07' season . Then on the 4th. of January and with a skeleton crew , the Str. American Queen shifted over and across the river to the Perry St. Wharf and landed " head down " above the Str's Mississippi Queen and Delta Queen . Its also my understading that the Str.Delta Queen will only operate for six months of the 08' season , while the Str. Mississippi Queen will remain in " moth balls " until the company sells off the DQ inorder to subsidize the expense of renovating the MQ . I personally hope this scenerio does not come to pass but from a number of sources , this seems to be the fate of the Str. Delta Queen .
