Steamboating colleagues:
Yesterday's U.S. Mail brought the Winter 2013 issue of RIVERVIEW, newsletter of the Middle Ohio River Chapter, Sons & Daughters of Pioneer Rivermen. And a great newsletter it is announcing the MOR spring meeting, Frankfort, KY April 19th/20th. Other features cover the SS BADGER 60th Anniversary, Paddlewheel Bits, Good News, Reunion to Remeber on 85 year-old DELTA QUEEN. For several years now the S&D Officers/Board of Governors coordinate our spring meeting in unison with MOR. It has become quite a spring gathering with fine programs, tours, dinners. This year's dinner speaker will be non other than our Capt. Bill Judd sharing 'The Kentucky River - Early Days to the Present.'
Word fresh in has it that S&D REFLECTOR Editor, David Tschiggfrie's stellar March issue of the REFLECTOR beginning the 50th year of Fred Way's creation, is a winner at 52 Pgs. 'Richardson Printing,' Marietta, Ohio began mailing yesterday. Watch your mail boxes and packet wharfboat landings for the arriving issue. Congratulations again to David on this celebratory anniversary issue. No doubt editor in chief David has other anniversary year slections in the works for 2013.
Secretary Sharon Reynolds indicates S&D renewals rolling in daily. I can testify to that accounting/banking the checks. If you've not renewed, then do so with Sharon. Jonathan Tschiggfrie has designed a fine new S&D pocket brochure that will be available when printed. Great work by Jon.
A surprise last week with news that Capt. Ted Davisson has registered also for the big SSHSA 'ShiPosium' first week of May aboard the QUEEN MARY Hotel, Long Beach, California. Good hearing from Ted and I'm looking forward to meeting him in May.

The U.S. Mail Line boat brought both THE RIVERVIEW and REFLECTOR to Covington this week. Both are excellent and their respective editors deserve a hearty pat on their collective backs! Thanks to both Barb Hameister and Dave Tschiggfrie for their efforts.
Just finished with the REFLECTOR . . . . . a mighty fine edition, indeed !
