As we often do, we switch gears during a thread, and especially in one as long as the What Is It? got. And sometimes a reply doesn't get posted right after the posting to which it referred. I just spotted something rather humorous in the original thread: Someone posted about S&D and said "Who could resist going?" The next posting said: "Possibly Alice Tooker". Needless to say, that was NOT the reply to who could resist.... it was a reply to the original thread of who owned an item I thumbnailed... never know what you might find on this board!!!!
I'm willing to bet that if Alice was alive she'd jump at the chance to go to S&D - but that is funny how the threads get off on tangents.
I'm personally hoping the original "What Is It?" topic will be continued with regularly posted pics of items from all those wonderful river treasure troves out there for everyone to try to identify.
I wish someone else would post an unidentified object, because right now after cleaning up the joint for the open house, I'm not in the What is it but rather Where is it? mode!!! Why is it easier to find stuff in a mess than in neatly organized places?
Don't get me started. But I don't see that you identified the boat the searchlight handles came off of. Well?
Sorry, I was on the TWILIGHT when that was discussed... I believe you were the one who got it. Those were searchlight handles off the PRESIDENT, courtesy of Capt. Joy Manthey.
